Aspen Center for Learning Approved for $1.5 Million in State Funding

Aspen Center for Learning is honored to announce approval of $1.5 million in state funding following a presentation before the Utah State Legislature’s appropriations committee earlier this month.

Earlier this month, founder J.W. Davies presented Aspen’s vision at the Utah State Capitol alongside Senator Gricius, sharing the growing need for lifelong learning opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across Utah.

Many adults with IDD face a significant transition after completing high school. Opportunities for continued learning become limited. Many are left sitting at home, often facing depression and regression of their skills. As a result, families across Utah are searching for meaningful pathways and opportunities for their loved ones.

Aspen Center for Learning was created to help address this need by providing an environment where adults with disabilities can continue developing skills, building relationships, and participating in their communities.

We are deeply grateful to Senator Gricius for her leadership and support, as well as Lincoln Hill, whose advocacy partnership helped Aspen engage with representatives and senators throughout the legislative process. Their efforts played an important role in helping share Aspen’s mission and vision with state leaders.

This funding represents an important step forward as Aspen Center for Learning continues planning, fundraising, and community engagement efforts to bring the project to life.
